November BirchBox

I've been so busy this week! I'll write about that in a later post; however, I must say that I've been slowly starting to get into using my November Birchbox that I received earlier this month.

If you don't know what Birchbox is, well it is a (mostly) beauty subscription box, where you can get samples (and sometimes full-sized) products for only $10 a month! There is even a subscription for men!

I subscribed to Birchbox last month so this is my second box. I got my October Birchbox really late in the mail and last month was so busy for me that I wasn't able to write about it! So, I decided to start with this month.

After opening the pink package that it comes in, you find this brown box with the Birchbox logo on it.

After opening the box, you find a few different items every month. They will also sometimes include a Birchbox Finds--anything that they think you would like! This month, I got a Ghiradelli Chocolate Bar. Although I don't mind eating chocolate bars every now and then, I'm not a big fan of mint chocolate. That was the bar that they gave me, but I thought it was cool that they included a full-sized bar in my box!

Another one of the products I got was this Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. I have so far tried it once, and it is a scrub. I liked how my skin felt afterwards, but I'm going to continue using it a few more times so I can see the effects of it on my skin.

I was really excited to receive Miss Jessie's Original Leave-In Condish, but after reading about it, I realized that it's for girls with curly hair. Mine is naturally straight so it defeats the purpose. I must not have chosen my preferences or something with my Birchbox account so I changed it. Regardless, I'm still going to try this someday for the detangler aspect of it.

Now this one was an interesting one. This one is called Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips. Yeah. When I first read the package I was caught a little off guard. I will say that this lip balm worked really well for me when I used it before applying a dark lip color to my lips last night, but when it's called nipple balm or the package says you can use it on your nipples or other dry parts of you, it's easy to feel a little uncomfortable, especially if people ask what you're using. I give this an A for quality, a C for naming/branding.

I tried this sample the second I took it out of the box! I don't use fragrances often, but I always appreciate them when they're available or given to me. This one is called Folle de Joie eau de parfum, and I loved the smell of this! I'm not good at describing scents of fragrances, but I liked this. However, my roommate thought it smelled like a grandma's perfume. Take your pick. Now this one is $98 for the full-sized bottle at full price, so I don't think I'd ever be able to purchase this, but it's nice to have it while I can!

And now for my last product in my Birchbox this month: Eyeko Black Magic Mascara in Black. I used this last night for an event and I really liked the length! The curved brush helped contribute to the good length for my very short lashes. What not to expect with this mascara: volume. I still like it nonetheless.

So, that's it for my Birchbox for this month! I really should try doing a video for this in the future. Until then,

  1. I got the Dr. Lipp in my September box, and I just finished it up this month! I really loved it on my lips, but it also worked wonderfully on my cuticles. The Folle de Joie smells nice, too. I'm really jealous of your chocolate, but I'm actually sick right now and drinking the tea BB gave me, so I guess they knew I would need it.

    1. Hmm, so it really does work on other parts of the body? I just thought the naming is a little weird and awkward. And I'm jelly you got the tea! Haha I gave the chocolate to a friend.
